Not so long ago we had a customer bring in a laptop and say it suddenly stopped working. They explained that a month or so ago they had spilt liquid on the keyboard but felt that couldn’t be the problem because they quickly dried it with a hair dryer and were sure they got it all.
Think again……
If a laptop gets wet, liquid will quickly drip down through the keyboard and end up all over the motherboard.
The sad thing here…. If it had have come to us earlier [ as soon as the liquid was spilt ] we could have dismantled the laptop and removed the motherboard and cleaned it properly. Instead droplets of liquid have been sitting on the motherboard for weeks, slowly turning into rust…
The moral here… Get the right person for the job.
